The following new features and enhancements are introduced in PPM 23.3.

Enhanced what-if analysis (Beta)

This release introduces a new version of what-if analysis. This advanced what-if analysis includes a variety of out-of-the-box layout templates, enabling you to analyze your portfolio from different perspectives. You can also create custom layout templates to meet your organization's needs.

Availability: The enhanced what-if analysis is introduced as a Beta feature, and is only available at the portfolio level.

Platform enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Platform module.

Data separation (Beta)

 

You can now use the data separation feature to separate the following data by data spaces:

  • Org units
  • Resources
  • Resource pools
  • Users
  • Teams

Members of a data space can only view or edit the data that belong to that data space.

Note: This is a Beta feature.

Support Polish language pack

PPM now adds support for the Polish language.

Administration enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Administration module.

Customize menu color

You can now customize the PPM menu color from the Administration Console.

Manage security groups from web UI

In addition to PPM workbench, you can now also create and configure security groups from the PPM web UI.

Customize cache settings

PPM now introduces a secure method for administrators to customize cache settings.

Time Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Time Management module.

Double confirm when removing time sheet lines

When removing time sheet lines, a confirmation dialog box displays for your confirmation. This avoids accidentally deleting any time sheet lines.

Display time fields with the zero value as blank

Time cells with the zero value in the Time Breakdown tab can now be displayed as blank. This helps users see more clearly where time is logged in their time sheets.

This feature is enabled when the new TM_SHOW_TIME_FIELD_ZERO_VALUES_AS_BLANK parameter is set to true.

Quick search to add work items to a time sheet

When adding work items to a time sheet, you can now use the new option, Quick Search to Add Items, to search for a work item of any type by its name or ID.

This option is available when the ENABLE_TM_QUICK_SEARCH parameter is set to true.

Disallow users to log time on closed requests

You can now disallow users to log time on closed requests.

This feature is enabled when you set the new TM_CLOSED_REQUEST_RESTRICTION parameter to true.

Specify max time periods to show on Approve Time Sheets portlet

You can now use the existing TM_MAX_PREVIOUS_TIME_PERIODS parameter to determine the maximum number of time periods available for selection when editing the preferences of the Approve Time Sheets portlet.

Integration enhancements

The following enhancements are added to PPM integration solutions.

PPM - Azure DevOps integration

PPM now supports integration with Microsoft Azure DevOps. You can now:

  • Import work items of an Azure DevOps project to a PPM project task.
  • Integrate PPM requests with Azure DevOps work items.

Support webhooks for request integration

Webhooks are now supported for the request integration. It enables PPM to immediately notify an external application when a request is created, modified, or deleted in PPM. This facilitates real-time communication between applications.

Support PAT authentication for PPM - Jira integration

PPM now supports Personal Access Token (PAT) authentication for the integration with Jira.

REST API enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the REST API.

Get time sheets pending for approval

You can now use the /itg/rest2/timesheet/searchTimesheet REST API to get time sheets that are pending for approval.

Retrieve project manager's user name and user ID

When using the /itg/rest2/pm/projects REST API to retrieve project information, you can now also get the user name and user ID of the project manager.

Migrate PPM entities

You can now use the /itg/rest2/migration REST APIs to migrate PPM entities from one instance to another.

Resource Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Resource Management module.

Exported staffing profiles include regions and task IDs

When exporting a staffing profile, position regions and task IDs are now also exported.

Enforce org unit for resource pools and teams

You can now require that a primary organization unit be associated when creating a resource pool or team.

It is recommended to enable this feature if you use the new Data separation feature.

Clear future forecast and assignments for canceled staffing profiles

You can now also use the Clear Future Forecast and Assignment option to clear future forecast and assignment for canceled staffing profiles. This option used to be available for completed staffing profiles only.

Specific Resource Requested and Resource Type fields support custom validations

You can now use custom validations for the Specific Resource Requested and Resource Type fields on the staffing profile and Add Position pages.

Portfolio Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Portfolio Management module.

Strategy alignment within portfolio hierarchy

A new field, Alignment, is now added to the Backlog tab and strategic theme details page of a portfolio. This field offers insights into the alignment status between strategic themes and portfolio items at all levels within the portfolio hierarchy.

KPI values roll up to parent portfolio's business goals

If you set a parent business goal for the current portfolio's business goal, KPI values of the current portfolio's business goal are rolled up to the parent business goal. This enhances the visibility of business goal performance and facilitates in-depth analysis at the portfolio level.

Business goal and KPI support decimal values

Business goal target values and KPI values now support numbers with two decimals.

Demand Management enhancements

The following enhancements are added to the Demand Management module.

Revamped request details page

The look and feel of the request details page is improved. It is now easier and more intuitive to navigate through request details.

Present attachment links in Request Search Results page

The Request Search Results page now shows attachment links in attachment fields. You can click a link to download the corresponding attachment.

Configure access to a program type

You can now configure the following for a program type:

  • Who can edit the program type.
  • Who can use the program type to create programs.
